General Introduction | Tangshan Port Group Co., Ltd. is a large state-owned listed port enterprise that leads the construction and development of Tangshan Port Jingtang Port Area. Jingtang Port Area is located in the core area around the Bohai Sea, 64 nautical miles away from Qinhuangdao Port in the east and 70 nautical miles away from Tianjin Port in the west. It is the proposed port site of the "Great Northern Port" proposed by Dr. Sun Yat sen in the "General Plan for the Founding of the People's Republic of China". The port building conditions here are superior, with deep water and steep banks, free from freezing and silting. There is a large area of saline alkali mudflat behind the port, which is suitable for port industry gathering. The construction of Jingtang Port Area began in August 1989, opened domestically in July 1992, and internationally in July 1993. It is the earliest national first-class open port developed and constructed in Tangshan City, and an important port in the national "13th Five Year Plan" for water transportation development. It integrates three demonstration projects of the Ministry of Transport, namely green port, smart port, and multimodal port. The planned area of Jingtang Port Area is 90 square kilometers, including 65 square kilometers of land and 25 square kilometers of sea. Plan to build six port basins and five functional areas (container operation area, liquid bulk operation area, dry bulk operation area, general cargo operation area, and comprehensive logistics area). The planned natural shoreline is 19 kilometers, and the dock shoreline is 49.04 kilometers. At present, 11.2 kilometers of natural coastline have been utilized, and 44 berths with a tonnage of 15000 to 250000 have been built. The utilized dock coastline is 12.206 kilometers, accounting for 24.8% of the available dock coastline. The cargo yard is over 10 million square meters, and the waterway level is 200000 tons. The transportation types of goods in the Jingtang Port Area include more than 10 categories and 100 varieties, including coal, ore, steel, containers, cement, grain, mechanical equipment, automobiles, wood, liquefied goods, etc., with the main cargo volume ranking among the top coastal ports in China. The hinterland of the port covers the vast areas of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, North China, and Northwest China, with waterway access to over 70 countries (regions) and over 200 ports. It is an important comprehensive transportation hub and modern logistics base in the Bohai Rim region. In 2009, the Jingtang Port Area became the youngest one billion ton port in China. In 2013, the throughput exceeded 200 million tons and doubled in four years. In 2018, the throughput exceeded 300 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%; The container transportation volume reached 2.33 million TEUs, accounting for 54.7% of the total number of ports in Hebei, with a year-on-year increase of 16.3%. It has become one of the top 20 containers in China and one of the top 100 in the world. In the first quarter of this year, the total throughput of Hong Kong was 75.83 million tons, an increase of 10.9% year-on-year; Among them, the container transportation volume completed 330000 TEUs. Tangshan Port Group was listed on the Shanghai Main Board in July 2010, setting the precedent for the listing of Hebei Port. It has raised a total of 6.01 billion yuan for port construction, which has historically and fundamentally changed the speed and quality of port development. Since its listing, the company's total assets have increased from 5.2 billion yuan to 23.3 billion yuan, and its net assets have increased from 3.5 billion yuan to 15.8 billion yuan. In 2018, the company achieved a revenue of 10.138 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 33.18%, a total profit of 1.901 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 3.67%, and a net profit of 1.610 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 10.02%. Among the 20 A-share listed port enterprises in China, the company ranks fourth in net profit. Tangshan Port Group has 31 wholly-owned and controlling subsidiaries, and 13 participating enterprises. There are over 3900 registered employees, with an average age of 34 years old, and the number of employees is one fourth of that of ports of the same size. The "East Coast Beijing Tianjin Hebei Northwest" container sea rail public multimodal transportation project led by the company, targeting land areas, has been successfully selected as one of the first batch of multimodal transportation demonstration projects in China. 16 inland ports have been built in Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Beijing, and other places, operating 18 sea rail intermodal trains. The "Japan South Korea China Mongolia" transit train has been normalized, and the "Tangshan Port to Antwerp, Belgium" China Europe train has been successfully launched. The demonstration project of container multimodal transportation at the Beijing Tang Port has been successfully expanded to Central Asia, West Asia, and Europe. Facing the ocean, 40 domestic and foreign trade routes have been opened, achieving high-density full coverage of major coastal ports in China and 9 basic ports in Japan and South Korea. Jointly established Jintang International Container Terminal Co., Ltd. with Tianjin Port Group, taking the lead in achieving coordinated development of Tianjin Hebei ports. The opening of the European route for bulk liquefied goods at Tangshan Port has injected new momentum into Tangshan's opening up to the outside world. Tangshan Port Group is committed to advancing the port logistics chain and industrial chain towards high-end development.The Jingtang Port Bonded Logistics Center (B-type) has passed the acceptance inspection, and the level of foreign trade facilitation has been comprehensively improved. The official opening of the vehicle import port has ended the history of Hebei Province's import of automobiles passing customs from other ports. Taking the opportunity of Tangshan's approval of the National Cross border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, we have cooperated with ports and foreign trade enterprises to officially operate cross-border e-commerce business. Successfully approved as a designated methanol delivery warehouse by the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange, it is the only coastal port in the north and has futures delivery qualifications for five types of goods: methanol, iron ore, coking coal, thermal coal, and coke. It has become the port with the most complete range of delivery varieties in China.
