Overview

General Introduction Guangzhou Shenzhen Railway Co., Ltd. (this company) was registered and established in Shenzhen, China on March 6, 1996 in accordance with the Company Law of the People's Republic of China. In May 1996, our H-shares (stock code: 0525) and American Depositary Shares (ADSs) (stock code: GSH) were listed on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (Hong Kong Stock Exchange) and the New York Stock Exchange (New York Stock Exchange), respectively; In December 2006, our company's A-shares (stock code: 601333) were listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange. Our company is currently the only railway transportation enterprise listed in Shanghai, Hong Kong, and New York in China. Our company mainly operates passenger and freight transportation business and long-distance passenger train transportation business for the Shenzhen Guangzhou Pingshi section of the railway, and cooperates with Hong Kong Railway Co., Ltd. to operate through train passenger train transportation business. Our company also operates comprehensive services for railway facilities technology, commercial trade, and other businesses that align with our company's objectives. Our company independently operates the Shenzhen Guangzhou Pingshi section of the railway, with a operating mileage of 481.2 kilometers, which runs vertically throughout Guangdong Province. Among them, the Guangping section is the southern section of the Beijing Guangzhou Railway, which is the major artery of China's railways in the north and south; The Guangzhou Shenzhen section is the only railway channel from mainland China to Hong Kong, connecting the Beijing Guangzhou, Beijing Kowloon, San Mao, Pingnan, Pingyan, and Hong Kong Kowloon Guangzhou railways. It is an important component of China's railway transportation network. The Guangzhou Shenzhen section of the railway is currently one of the most modernized railways in China. It is the first fully closed, four parallel railway in China, and also the first railway to achieve separate passenger and freight operations. Passenger transportation business is the main transportation business of our company. At present, our company operates 233.5 pairs of passenger trains per day on the train diagram, including 105 pairs of Guangzhou Shenzhen intercity high-speed trains (including 19 pairs of backup lines), 13 pairs of through trains, and 115.5 pairs of long-distance passenger trains. Our company is committed to promoting the development plan of high-speed passenger trains. The passenger transportation between Guangzhou and Shenzhen is mainly carried out by the new domestically produced "Harmony" electric train unit with a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. During peak passenger flow periods, there is an average of one pair of "Harmony" high-speed trains running every 10 minutes, which has preliminarily achieved the "public transportation" operation of intercity railways. Freight business is an important transportation business of our company. The railway lines operated by the company are closely connected to surrounding ports, logistics bases, building materials markets, and large factories and mines, and business cooperation is established. The company has well-equipped freight facilities, which can effectively transport whole vehicles, less than half a load, containers, bulky goods, dangerous goods, fresh goods, and oversized goods. It has a competitive advantage in medium to long distance transportation in mainland China. Railway operation business is an extension of passenger and freight transportation business developed by the company since the opening and operation of the Wuhan Guangzhou Railway in December 2009. As of now, the company has provided this service for Wuhan Guangzhou Railway, Guangzhou Zhuhai Intercity Railway, Guangzhou Shenzhen Hong Kong Railway, Guangzhou Zhuhai Railway, Xiamen Shenzhen Railway, and Ganshao Railway. In the future, with the construction and operation of a series of high-speed railways and intercity railways in the "Pan Pearl River Delta" region, the company will provide a wider range of railway operation services, and railway operation services will also become a new business growth point for the company in the future. After the company completed the acquisition of operational assets for the Guangping section of the railway in 2007, its business scope shifted from regional railways to important national backbone networks. The attraction range, business scale, and development space for passenger and freight transportation services were significantly expanded, and its comprehensive competitiveness and overall operating efficiency were significantly improved. With the sustained and stable growth of the Chinese economy, the gradual deepening of railway reform and development, the strengthening of economic cooperation in the "Pan Pearl River Delta" region, and the increasingly frequent economic and trade exchanges between the mainland and Hong Kong and Macau, the future development prospects of the Guangzhou Shenzhen Railway will be even broader.
