The subsidiary Beijing New Energy Vehicle Co., Ltd. was founded in 2009 and is the first independently operated enterprise in China to obtain the qualification for new energy vehicle production. On September 27, 2018, BAIC Blue Valley became the first domestic new energy vehicle stock through a major asset restructuring. BAIC Blue Valley's main business includes research and development, design, production, manufacturing, and sales services for pure electric passenger vehicles. Currently, it is fully committed to building two major brands, Jihu and BAIC. Jihu is a high-end intelligent new energy vehicle brand created by BAIC Blue Valley by aggregating global high-quality resources. Its products are produced by a joint venture between BAIC Blue Valley and globally renowned luxury car manufacturer Magna, Blue Valley Magna, in China. Two models under Jihu, the all-terrain performance pure electric SUV Jihu Alpha T and the new generation intelligent luxury pure electric sedan Jihu Alpha S, have been launched and delivered. On May 7, 2022, the all-new HI version of the Jihu Alpha S, positioned as a high-end intelligent driving pure electric sedan, was launched. The new car is the world's first mass-produced vehicle equipped with the HI Huawei full stack intelligent car solution, the world's first mass-produced vehicle to support advanced intelligent driving on urban roads, and the world's first high-end pure electric mass-produced sedan to carry the Huawei intelligent cockpit - Hongmeng Car OS. In October 2019, based on the "Beijing" trademark, BAIC Group's "BAIC New Energy" and "BAIC Motor" jointly launched the "BEIJING" brand. In May 2020, the BEIJING brand was named BEIJING Automobile, and the brand slogan was released - "Beautiful, Driving from BEIJING Automobile". The product lineup of BEIJING Automobile includes models such as BEIJING-EU7, BEIJING-EU5, BEIJING-EX5, and BEIJING-EX3.
